1.2.2010 - "BREAKING THROUGH BOUNDARIES" In the current February edition of 'Reiterrevue' magazine, dressage trainer Ralph-Michael Rash and other well-known experts give valuable tips on 'lengthening of frame' as a cornerstone of correct riding. In addition to the low-down provided by the experts, the 9 pages devoted to the topic also feature numerous photographs taken at the Hesselhof. There, riders Frank Mohr and Bjarke Raghner ably demonstrate what lengthening of frame means and how to implement it on horseback. Not to be outdone by their riders during the shooting, the 11-year old bay St. George winner and the 5-year old chestnut breeding stallion from the Hesselhof also put on an impressive display of their talent. I wish you lots of reading pleasure (www.reiterrevue.de)! Yours, Ralph-Michael Rash |

21.12.2009 - Dear Friends of Dressage, The year 2009 is coming to an end. It was a successful one for the Hesselhof and we look back proudly on the many awards, victories and successful placings that our horses have achieved. One of the year's highlights was without doubt that of Ekaterina Lipatova winning the Russian championships on Fireball. All of this bears good tidings for the coming season and the year 2010. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers, business partners and friends for the trust you have extended, and express my gratitude to the Hesselhof team for a job well done! I wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and the best of luck, health and success in the New Year! Yours, Ralph-Michael Rash December 16th, 2009: Jonathan has arrived! 17.11.2009 - Licensed stallions from the Hesselhof Right now, in fall, when the best sires are being awarded prizes, the Hesselhof, too is proud to present three licensed stallions from its range of exceptional sports horses. Not only do their pedigrees speak for these stallions, but also their conformation, quality of movement and willingness to perform virtually guarantee success in both sports and breeding. It is my pleasure to present the following outstanding stallions to you:
1. Bay stallion, HannoveranerYear of birth: 2005 Height: 172 cm It is a perfect match of solid breeding base and performance genes. This well proportioned stallion exemplifies the modern horse that excels both at riding and breeding. When performing under the saddle, this stallion's rideability all but advertises the abundance of high pedigree genes and his obvious talent for collection makes it clear: this stallion is aiming high when it comes to dressage sports!
2. Chestnut stallion, HannoveranerYear of birth: 2005 Height: 169 cm Not only is this chestnut stallion a picture of beauty, but also a harmoniously modelled athlete with a most interesting blood line that becomes apparent on seeing him perform under the saddle. Here's one dynamic mover that knows but one direction: Grand Prix sports!
3. Dark brown gelding, OldenburgerYear of birth: 2002 Height: 167 cm As a breeding stallion, this horse has already had its share of success, passing on its exceptional quality to his offspring dominantly. Since he has come to the Hesselhof and is no longer engaged in breeding, his offspring is virtually sold out! But also as a sports horse, this beautiful movement artist has everything that a future Grand Prix winner requires for the international dressage arena. More information on these exceptional stallions is just a phone call away. Yours, Ralph-Michael Rash |

29 September 2009 - Wedding bells ring at the Hesselhof They couldn't have wished for a better start: on a wonderfully sunny Saturday morning, Dr. Eva Rash (née Lang) and Ralph-Michael Rash exchanged their wedding vows in the elegant atmosphere of Christuskirche church in Warendorf. Following the civil wedding ceremony the day before with members of the families, on August 29th scores of friends and acquaintances followed the invitation to attend the church wedding and along with the bridal couple witnessed a truly exceptional ceremony. The bride was led to the altar by her grandfather - who himself had married the same day - to the festive sounds of an organ and the joyful blasts of trumpets. A solo sung by Andrea Beusker in a crystal clear voice enchanted those in attendance even more. With their vows exchanged, the beaming couple was, befitting the occasion, driven to the Hesselhof in a splendid carriage-and-four, while the guests formed a parade of cars almost a thousand meters long. At the joyous reception, the revelers included many a familiar face, and a short, but refreshing rain shower had everyone move together even closer. As entertainment and culinary delights had been cared for, the afternoon transitioned smoothly into a festive night. The newlyweds came through the festivities well and would like to thank everybody for the many good wishes and lovely gifts. The Rashes would be glad to welcome you again soon at the Hesselhof. 06. September 2009 - Just a tad more luck… Pure excitement was the order of the day last Sunday: at 1:27 p.m., Dandolo and rider Frank Mohr were ready to strut their stuff at the Federal Championship for 5-year old dressage horses. Fourth in line and optimally prepared for the test, horse and rider were counting down the minutes to the starting signal. Dandolo was his usual expressive self, radiating power, concentration and elasticity. Then one minute short of their entry into the arena, fate struck a blow: Dandolo lost his front left shoe! Consequently, Frank Mohr and Dandolo were unable to warm up. The entire team was rigid with shock! Relief came in form of a note from the judges, giving the pair a second chance with a new start at 3:42 p.m., 18th in line. Now, time was of the essence. Dandolo had to be reshod and readied anew for his start. Unfortunately, a break of two hours and insufficient time to warm up for the second attempt exerted their toll, leaving Dandolo's concentration in tatters. Although Dandolo was unable to fully live up to his potential, their ride was ranked 11th overall with a score of 80% - not a bad result when considering that there were a total of 85 competitors. Had circumstances been normal, we know this exceptionally gifted gelding would have placed much higher. With just a tad more luck… 03. September 2009 - Dandolo qualified for finals Already in the first qualifying round for 5-year old dressage horses, Dandolo was able to qualify for this year's Federal Championship Finals in Warendorf with a score of 84%. His rider, Frank Mohr, and the entire Hesselhof team look forward to next Sunday. 04. September 2009 - Yet another winner from Hesselhof On the first weekend in August, Ekaterina Lipatova on Fireball won top honors at the small tour in Moscow, being crowned Russian Champion in that discipline. It was the highpoint of a career so far that began right after Ms. Lipatova had purchased the impressive chestnut gelding at Hesselhof last year, what with a fourth place in the Prix St. George competition and leaving other riders in the dust with wins in Intermediaire I and Intermediaire Freestyle events. Congratulations to Ekaterina and Fireball! 27.08.2009 - Tournament success right from the outset Right now we have two grown St. George winners on offer for competitive riders aiming for more. Both horses have passed tests scoring higher than 70% and are destined to come out on top at the international Young Riders Tour. For more information please call as at +49 (0)2581 789 670 23.08.2009 - Successful dress rehearsal Having already qualified for the 2009 Federal Championships (Bundeschampionat) for 5-year old dressage horses with a score of 8.2, Dandolo, our bay Hannoveraner gelding once again demonstrated what he is capable of. On his last test before the Federal Championships, last Sunday he and Frank Mohr were able to place third in the test with a score of 8.3. We are looking forward to the Federal Championships! 21 July 2009 - New star added to our stables For weeks now a black stallion has been the center of attention at the Hesselhof. It is not only his fascinating good looks, which as a breeding stallion he has previously passed on to countless foals, that make this 7-year old performer unique. His imposing, dynamic and spring-like movements, too, enthrall riders and spectators alike. An exceptional and already highly decorated horse, it has all the potential in the world for international Grand Prix sports. 30 June 2009 - Hesselhof horses earn their keep, again Once more the Hesselhof was able to prove its mettle in competition. Last weekend, Lindgren came into second place both in S-dressage and Prix St. George competition. Close behind was Dakato , who finished fourth and third, respectively, in the same categories. Like their rider, Frank Mohr, both horses call the Hesselhof their home. Do come by for a closer look at these two darlings! 8 June 2009 - Dandolo qualifies for Federal Championship
